Caring for you and your baby are important steps during your pregnancy. To prepare for your baby’s birth, we suggest you educate yourself by attending childbirth classes, visiting your physician regularly, reading and talking to others. The birth of your baby is an exciting time, and we want to help you adjust to this new stage in your life!
For newly pregnant women, our “OB 101 Class” provides an overview of pregnancy issues and prenatal care. During this interactive two-hour class, an obstetrician reviews developments during each stage of pregnancy and addresses issues such as:
- What to expect from prenatal care
- Timetable for various laboratory tests and ultrasound
- Pregnancy complications
- Common discomforts of pregnancy
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Sex
Our Mothers’ Center is a unique midwifery office that enables a pregnant woman to take a greater role in her prenatal care. Designed for women with low-risk pregnancies, the Mothers’ Center offers longer prenatal visits with a certified nurse midwife (CNM) and encourages in-depth dialogue. Our patients are very comfortable as they relax in a leather recliner for their prenatal visit. Physicians are always readily available for these clients as well.
